Type: Dried Strawberries covered in dark chocolate
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture :Cocoa Pete's Chocolate Adventures
Purchase from a liquor store in San Francisco

For chocolate lovers out there, have you try this chocolate bar yet? If you have not, you are missing something really good. This chocolate bar is delicious and wicked good. It is made from 61% dark chocolate with dried strawberry bits. For $ 2.99, this bar is worth every penny.

This chocolate bar comes in an attractive box; easy to open and resealable packaging. The bar smells fruity and chocolaty. I like how the chocolate bar comes in four attached hemisphere ,I can break one chocolate drop and keep the rest for later.

The chocolate bar is hard to break. I practically have to get a knife to break it into half. You have to bite and chew. Once i start chewing, the chocolate flavour dissolves in my mouth and my tongue starts to dance happily. The chocolate is rich and smooth on the palate. I am also surprised how the dried bits of strawberries are chewy, has a very intense flavor and its compliment to the dark chocolate. It is a well-done product from Cocoa Pete.

Cocoa Pete also made other flavors bars such as Maltimus Maximus(brewers malt and milk chocolate) , Nuts So Serious and Caramel Knowledge ( dark chocolate, caramel and coffee).

Big Cherry

Type: Cherry fruit covered with milk chocolate and peanuts
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture: Christoper's / Ben myerson Candy Co
Purchase from a liquor store at Filmore St, San Francisco

First of all, a bite from this chocolate gives me a sugar rush. It is extremely sweet. For a candy of this size ( 1.75 oz ) and packed with 230 calories, it should come with a health warning!

The candy smells nutty and chocolaty. it has three different
layers; first is the chocolate covered peanuts followed by the bright pink cream and then the red maraschino cherry. However, I am not impressed with the flavor. I have tried Hersey's Cheery Creme and i love it! As for this one, it is nutty and creamy but does not enough chocolate and it is overly sweet. I could not finish this candy.

Old Fashioned Cream Drops

Type: Cream drops
Origin:U.S.A
Manufacture: Necco
Purchase from Walgreen's at Divisadero St, San Francisco

This old fashioned cream drops from necco is smooth and pleasant in texture. However, it taste too sweet and artificial to me. The chocolate is dry, not fluffy and certainly not creamy. It taste like a cake batter; the heaviness of the cream from the white filling overpowering the mint flavor.

Red Hots Cinnamon Candy

Type: Cinnamon flavored candy
Origin:U.S.A
Manufacture: Ferrara Pan
Purchase from a liquor store at Filmore St, San Francisco

I am not a big fan of Cinnamon flavored candy or gum and prefer mint over cinnamon so, i really didn't think i would like these as much. But what persuaded me to purchase this candy were the price and the packaging. For 25 cent, a fat free food and only 100 calories, i could not resist! In appearance, the candy is radiant red and looks like a mini M&M''s.

The outer shell is heavily cinnamon, if you keep sucking on it, it is fiercely spicy and hot but not unbearable then slowly turn to sweetness.

Nestle Coffee Crisp

Type: wafers with coffee creme center
Origin: Canada
Manufacture: Nestle
Purchase from Deluxe wine and spirits store at downtown San Francisco

Coffee Crisp is a very popular chocolate bar in Canada and only recently made its way to the States. My brother who lives in Canada was raving about this chocolate bar. I have got to try it!!! I had been looking for a while for this bar and finally found it.
I love coffee and anything crunchy so... this bar represents the best of my world . However, I was hugely disappointed with this bar because it was not as crunchy as i expected and it was definitely a stale chocolate bar. I bet you !! this bar would have been sooo good if it were fresh. i I imagine the crunchiness of the wafer and the coffee creamy filling taste on my mouth.... so divine and delicious.
I am definetly on a look out for another one of this. One that is not stale !!!

Flake

Type: The crumbliest and flakiest milk chocolate
Origin: England
Manufacture :Cadbury
Purchase from Deluxe wine and spirits store at downtown San Francisco
Tasting this bar is truly an experience. It is simply divine and out of this world. Let me describe its appearance to you. It is about 6 inches long and looks like a wood log. It is very delicate, brittle and crumbly. It is made of milk, sugar, cocoa butter and cocoa mas. What set this chocolate bar apart from the rest is that when you eat this bar, the chocolate crumbs gradually melt on your tongue and tantalises the taste bud. It is soft, creamy and not overly sweet.
My only complain is that it is extremely messy to eat and leaves crumbs everywhere. It is also not good for the waist. I can see now why this chocolate bar extremely popular in Britain.

Sesame Candy

Type: Crunchy Sesame Bar
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture: Joyva Corp
Purchase from a liquor store at Market St, San Francisco

When i saw this candy, it reminded me of my childhood memories. We treated this more of a snack than a candy. The bar is thin and flat. It is crunchy , slightly sticky and has a burnt nutty flavor.

Halvah is a Turkish confection. It is one of the worlds oldest candies. The main ingredients include tahini and sugar. Tahini is created by grinding sesame seeds into a smooth creamy butter.
This candy bar is unappealing when pulled out of the package. It is slimy, drenched in oil and it has a waxy, powdery and papery texture. It does has a nutty and a hint of vanilla flavour. Overall, the sight of drenched bar in oil to me is very disturbing!

CupOGold

Type: Thick, Rich Milk Chocolate Creamy Smoother Center of Almonds and Coconut
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture: Hoffman's
Purchase from a liquor store at Market St, San Francisco

CupOGold is a single cup of creamy milk chocolate from San Francisco with toasted almond and coconut filling. I like the filling; toasted almond, marshmallow and coconut a lot but i certainly do not like the chocolate. In my opinion, so far this is the worst chocolate i have ever taste. The milk chocolate is weak . Perhaps, if Hoffman Company use a better quality/grade of chocolate, it would have been a better CupOGold.

Tootsie Roll

Type: Chocolate chewy candy
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture : Tootsie Roll Industry Inc
Purchase from a Liquor store at Eddy St, San Francisco

Most people in America love Tootsie Roll. Tootsie Roll for many Americans have been a nostalgic childhood memories. I was very curious to know if i would feel the same way towards Tootsie Roll. Are they really that good?

The first time i tried this candy, i did not like it. I had a couple of them and still could not understand why people like them. It is soft, chewy and it has a good texture but no flavour. I was expecting an intense chocolate experience in my mouth. For me, it tasted artificial sort off like a card box. However, i tried other Tootsie Roll's products. They make it in vanilla, lime, cherry and lemon flavour and they are very good. I especially like the lime and vanilla flavour.

Rocky Road

Type: Chocolate bar coated marshmallow
Origin:U.S.A
Manufacture: Annabelle's
Purchase from Walgreen's at Chestnut St, San Francisco

I have decided to try and compare all of the three flavours of Rocky Road. Among the three, my favorite is Rocky Road Dark Chocolate coated marshmallow mint with cashew ( the green wrapper). The marshmallow is soft, green and has a strong minty smell. The mint flavour is not too heavy. it has a nice mix of dark chocolate and mint. The mint and the dark chocolate compliments each other; one does not overtaken the other.
My second favorites is Rocky Road Dark Chocolate coated marshmallow with cashew (the gold wrapper). The dark chocolate has bittersweet taste and more chocolaty than the milk chocolate. The marshmallow is thick, foamy and not sticky.
And the least favorite is the Rocky Road Milk Chocolate coated marshmallow with cashew ( the red wrapper). When it compares with the mint and dark chocolate, the milk chocolate does not stand out in terms of flavour. It does has a smoother taste than the other two however, i find that this bar particularly dull.
Rocky Road milk chocolate coated marshmallow with cashew=5
Rocky Road dark chocolate coated marshmallow with cashew= 7
Rocky Road dark chocolate coated marshmallow mint with cashew= 7

Type: Fererro Roche Dark Chocolate. Rating: 6
Type: Fererro Roche Hazelnut Chocolate Rating:9
Type: Fererro Roche Almond Coconut Treat. Rating:6
Origin: Belgium
Manufacture : Fererro U.S.A , INC
Purchase from Walgreen at Divisadero St, San Francisco

My favorite is the hazelnut Chocolate. Crispy and crunchy chocolate shell with tiny bits of hazelnut, crunchy wafers, creamy milk chocolate and a piece of Hazelnut in the center. What can go wrong! it is a great combination!

The Dark chocolate is OK. For the dark-chocolate lovers , this may be one of their favorites.

As for the white version, i don't like it at all. I found it too sweet.

Candy Corn Taffy

Type: Candy Corn Taffy
Origin:U.S.A.
Manufacture : Sweet Candy Company
Purchase from Walgreen's at Divisadero St, San Francisco
I found this bag of candy among the 75 % sale candy bin after the Halloween was over at Walgreen's. I have seen Hersey's kisses candy corn and Brach's candy corn but i have never seen candy corn taffy. Let me remind you! i do not like anything that stuck to my gum uncomfortably. So, i was pretty skeptical and quiet excited to how this taffy turned out. As i made my way to the cash register, i eagerly open the bag and took one to my mouth....
I was pleasantly surprised and actually enjoyed this candy. It has a shiny appearance, soft and flavourful. It taste more of a caramel flavour than candy corn.

Mary Jane Peanut Butter Kisses

Type: Chewy Peanut Butter Taffy
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture : Necco
Purchase from Walgreen's at Divisadero St, San Francisco
I saw this bag of candy recently when i was shopping for Halloween but decided not to purchase it. This morning when i saw 'Mary Jane' again at Walgreen's, i just had to buy it. I can tell you this; i love anything with peanut. So when i saw the cute and smiley 'Mary Jane' on the package, i just could not resist. Further more, i have never seen anything on the black, orange and 'Mary Jane ' orange wax wrappers. Necco actually print the wax wrappers with picture of Mary Jane. How cool is that !!!
The taffy smells of roasted peanuts. I just cant stop smelling them! It is soft, chewy and tasty. I love how the peanut butter in the middle of the taffy sort off act like a glue that hold them together. And of course, they are darn good!

I was excited when i saw this new Snickers Halloween edition. I was expecting a creme pumpkin filling but to my disappointment, i could not taste the pumpkin at all. This bar taste like ordinary snickers to me. There is nothing really special about this chocolate.
