Hersey's Bars

Type: Limited Edition Hersey's Brownies 'N' Chocolate
It takes few bites for the flavor to emerge. This chocolate bar has bits and pieces of brownies. In term of flavor, it is mild and slowly disappearing. The chocolate and brownies does not mix too well together.

Rating: 4

Type: Limited Edition Hersey's Special Dark Espresso
It has a strong smell of coffee which i like. However, this chocolate tasted awful to me
Rating: 3

Type: Limited Edition Hersey's Almond Joy
So far, this is my favorite. I love Almond Joy so i know i am going to enjoy this chocolate bar. The chocolate is rich and creamy. The coconut and almond bits are plentiful.
Rating:8

Type: Hersey's Special Dark
Another very popular Hersey's bar. It is slightly bitter. After few bites, i could not taste the dark chocolate. This chocolate bar simply does not have enough flavor/substance. A huge disappointment!
Rating: 4

Type: Hersey's with Crisp corn bits.
Again, Hersey's chocolate is too sweet. The corn bits are plentiful and crunchy.
Rating: 5

Type: Hersey's with Caramel, Naturally and Artificially flavored.
Compare to the rest of Hersey's Bar, the packaging on this bar is much smaller in size. It is perhaps an attempt from Hersey's to distinguish its limited edition from the others. Hersey's definitely would like to successfully sell this Hersey's with caramel bar.
The caramel has a goldish color and it is stringy and tasty. I like the caramel more than the chocolate. Overall, it is an OK chocolate.

Type: Hersey's filled with Peanut Butter, King Size!
I am saving the best for last. I am a huge fan of peanut butter. I love Reese's and convinced that they are the best peanut butter chocolate mix in the world. So when i discovered Hersey's attempt to compete with My Favorite peanut butter chocolate company, i took the challenge seriously.
The peanut butter is smooth and creamy. Reese's has a much nicer texture and taste even better. In addition, Hersey's chocolate is too sweet for me.

Reese's

Type: Reese's cup chocolates
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture:Hersey's
Purchase from various stores in San Francisco

Type:Reese's Fudge Egg Easter 2008
It is very sticky, salty and has more peanut butter than fudge. the fudge just melt on your mouth and I barely taste it.
Rating: 8

Type: Reese's Limited Edition Big PB Cup with mixed nuts

I bought this chocolate last year and finally decided to try them. I love Reese's Cup so i always try to save the best for last. The mixed nuts in this Reese's are cashews, almonds and pecans. The mixed nuts are in chunks and not grind to little pieces. These Limited Editions are actually quiet good and it is refreshing to have something new and different version of Reese's cup.
Rating: 8

Type:Reese's Limited Edition Big PB Cup with Caramel and Nuts
The caramel is a thin layer at the bottom of the Peanut Butter. The caramel is sticky and sweet however, it does not overwhelms the saltiness of the Peanut Butter. This PB cup with caramel and nuts is OK but not great.
Rating: 7

Type: Reese's Limited Edition PB Cups with Marshmallow
The marshmallow is a white thin layer at the bottom of the PB. I can taste something different and definitely it is the marshmallow however, i am not sure what Marshmallow supposed to taste like. Overall, i definitely will not purchase these again and will persuaded Hersey's not to make this.
Rating: 5

Type: Reese's Limited Edition PB Cups with Double Chocolate
The PB filling in this cups has darker and brownish color. It is definitely more chocolaty and sweet and yet there is enough saltiness from the PB. However, i don't think too much chocolate makes a better Reese's PB cup. Nevertheless i feel that this version changed the whole dynamic of the Reese's OB cup supposed to taste like.

Demolino and Tofi Luk

Demolino

Type: Biscuit Bar and caramel in a milky chocolate
Origin: Malaysia
Manufacture: Gandour ( Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd
Purchase from Watson Store, Philippines

First of all, this chocolate bar has a very unappealing name. It sounded like 'demolition'.
The biscuit was soft and tasted stale and old. It has little or no caramel at all.

Tofi Luck

Type: Biscuit bar and caramel in a milk chocolate
Origin: Malaysia
Manufacture: Gandour ( Malaysia) Sdn.Bhd
Purchase from Watson Store, Philippines

Demolino and Tofi Luk produced by the same company. It has a similar texture and flavor. I checked for the ingredient at the back of the package; surprisingly they have same or not similar ingredients.

Milky Way

Type: Chocolate malt nougat topped with caramel and covered with milk chocolate

Manufacture: Mars Master foods U.S.A

Origin: U.S.A

Purchase from Daily City Target California

Soft creamy nougat with a taste of caramel in every chew. The flavored vanilla nougat is very pronounce. The caramel is stringy and delicious. The original milky way is sweet and creamy while the midnight milky way is bitter. I prefer the original over the midnight milky way. However, i can understand why the dark chocolate version is also very popular.

Milky Way is not my favorite chocolate bar because i find it too filling and rich. It is a bar by itself and definitely not a snack i can enjoy in between meals.

Rating for Original Milky Way: 8

Rating for Midnight Milky Way : 7

ChocoMucho

Type: Milk Chocolate Caramel Wafer Roll Cereal Crispiest
Origin: Philippines
Manufacture: Multirich Foods Corporation
Purchase from the local market in Philippines

I had this chocolate bar after a long night partying at the famous beach of Borocay in Philippines. I didn't remembered having dinner at all that night and was hungry as hell! My husband, Rod broke this bar into half and shared it with me.

All i remembered was how good it tasted. It was crunchy and delicious. We were munching our bar quietly and towards the end of the last piece, we were eyeing each other's hoping if ones' were willing to sacrifice and gave out the last bite. Rod gave it a 9 while i was sure the effect of alcohol and hunger impaired my taste bud , i gave it an 8.

Cow Tales

Type: Chewy caramel with a creamy center
( Chocolate, Vanilla and Strawberry)
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture : Goetze's Candy
Purchase from North Beach Candy Store San Francisco
When i saw Cow Tails, i was overcome with joy. I was happy as a cow ! It was like finding a hidden treasure. I, then, decided to purchase all the three flavors of Cow Tails. They are at about 50 cent each and apparently they' re rare and hard to find.
Of all the three different flavors, Strawberry is my favorite, then the vanilla and the chocolate come in the last.
The Strawberry cow tails is my favorite of all three. I love anything with strawberry. They are my favorite fruits. It has a strong smell of a strawberry. It is pink in color with a white cream filling. As you begin to chew the candy, the strawberry flavour fills your mouth and awaken all your taste bud. I will buy this candy again.
Rating:7
The Vanilla cow tails is mild and pleasant. I have a hard time choosing which is my favorite between the strawberry and the vanilla cow tails. It is not overly sweet and pleasantly chewy without the problem of sticking to your teeth.
Rating: 7
The chocolate cow tails definitely does not taste nor smell of a chocolate. The flavor reminded me of a Tootsie-Roll. It has a waxy, pasty texture with a white creme filling. It is not overly sweet but definitely not tasty.

Crunchy crisped rice with slightly bitter dark chocolate. However, there is not much different in terms of flavor compare to the crunchy caramel milk chocolate

The Original 100 grand is still the best of all three. Smooth, not too sweet , crispy and has a good crunch to it.
2. Limited Edition 100 Grand Dark Chocolate. Rating: 7
The dark chocolate has a strong bittersweet flavour and the caramel has also very strong distinct flavour. The caramel is stringy and chewy. The dark chocolate overwhelms the whole candy bar.
3. 100 Grand with peanuts. Rating: 6
I am not sure what they try to achieve with this bar. The peanut overwhelms the whole candy bar.

Take 5

Type: Peanut Butter Take 5 made with pretzel, caramel, peanut butter and peanut butter candy.

Origin:U.S.A
Manufacture: Hersey's
Purchase from various liquor store in San Francisco.

My favorite among the three is the Original Take 5. I think Hersey's should just stick with the original. The original has great flavour. I love the crunchiness of the pretzel, chewy and stringy caramel and the sweet and salty taste of the peanut butter.
Rating: 9
The Peanut Butter Take 5 is too much for me. It is overload with peanut butter. I like peanut butter but not that much! I feel that it is too filling, too rich and the flavour too intense. I just had 2 bites and i could not finish them.
Rating: 7

The Limited Edition Marshmallow Take 5 has a very interesting flavour. In my opinion, it taste funky and definitely, not a good combination.

Milk Duds

Type: Milk chocolate covered caramel candy
Origin: U.S.A
Manufacture : Hersey's

I did not like the chewy texture and how it stuck ed to my tooth. Furthermore, it tasted like a card box. I wonder if it would taste differently if it were fresh from production line. I would like to give it another try...
